Petition to Editorial Planeta [ENGLISH VERSION]

Just want to clarify a bit Re: Our petition for Complete Spanish Editions of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.

The first 5 books of the Spanish editions, which are the ones with huge omissions and translation errors, were published by Emecé first and later by Salamandra Editorials.

Diana mentioned a few months ago that she was about to sign a new deal for all the Spanish editions to be published by Editorial Planeta from now on. They were in charge of the last two books of the Outlander Series, 6 and 7. Those seem to be complete, and the quality of the binding for both hardcover and mass market paperbacks are fine.

And that is why we are doing this. It's in Editorial Planeta's hands to remedy the atrocity that took place on the hands of the previous publishing companies. It's no easy task. Books 1 to 5 will probably have to be translated all over again.

So, what we are asking is:

1. Books 1 to 5 to be translated UNABRIDGED. Below is a picture of my copy of Voyager, and I've highlighted in pink what's been left out in the Spanish edition. 

This is not always the case, and its only a small sample. Most of the time, half of the chapter has not been translated, and the worst case scenario is chapter 19 of "The Fiery Cross", which has 16 pages in the english e-book, and only 4 of those are present in the Spanish version.

2. We are also requesting good quality books. Editorial Salamandra released a mass market paperback Spanish edition for books 1 to 5. The picture I attach are not the same book, but 3 different ones. They come apart in your first read.

3. We want to be given the possibility to buy Spanish editions in e-book format. None of the 7 books in the Outlander Series are available at the moment.

4. The rest of Diana Gabaldon's books to be translated to Spanish. We are missing: Custom of the Army, Plague of Zombies, A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows, The Space Between, The Exile and The Outlandish Companion.

And this is when we ask all Outlander fans to help us. By signing the petition, and spreading the word. As of today, we have collected almost 1,000 signatures. The petition will be up for a few more weeks, so if you have 5 minutes, please help us and sign. We will be eternally grateful. I will also continue to update everybody with the progress we've made.
